In Zomboard, players are thrust into a desolate world where the primary objective is survival. The key gameplay elements include:
- Resource Collection: Scavenge the ruins of civilization to gather essential resources such as food, water, building materials, and weapons. Each expedition outside the safety of the base carries risks, as zombies and hostile survivor groups roam the land.
- Base Building: Construct and upgrade shelters, farms, water purification systems, and defensive structures. A well-fortified base is crucial for surviving the frequent zombie attacks, which can number in the thousands. Players must strategically place barriers, traps, and lookout towers to defend against the relentless hordes.
- Survivor Management: Control a diverse group of survivors, each with unique skills and attributes. Assign tasks such as scavenging, building, and defending the base. Maintaining the health, hunger, thirst, and morale of your group is vital. Survivors can become fatigued or suffer from mental health issues due to the constant stress and danger.
